ABOUT
I grew up and have lived most of my 30 years on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and my work is heavily influenced by the sandy dunes of my childhood. I graduated from The Art Institute of Boston - now known as Lesley University College of Art and Design - with my BFA in May of 2015.
At school I primarily worked as a painter, with an interest in Educating in the arts. So I dabbled in everything I could to experience each aspect of art including Intaglio Printmaking, Handbuilt Claywork and Digital Illustration. My work often reflected my love of nature and landscape through abstracted means to accentuate the effect of light on and around the subjects.
I am both a fine artist and illustrator, though the former is my current focus. I work primarily in oil paints, using thick marks of paint with a palette knife to create intriguing textured landscapes and portraits that focus on the effects of light and color on the land, sea, skin and fur.
